Members from over 50 associations, with the benefit of French and Spanish interpretation, heard from Gabby Castillo and Nick Shaw from Meta’s sports team on how to use Reels effectively across social media platforms to engage and connect with a wider audience, as well as from Yafeu Downes, who explored the importance of athlete’s online safety.

The impact of social media as a tool to engage and connect with our audience was highlighted brilliantly by the World Cup winning Lionel Messi’s Instagram post – now the most liked post in Instagram history with an astonishing 70 million likes! This really underlines the power of football across the world, demonstrating just how vital it is for Member Associations to utilise their social media to maximise their engagement with their fans.

FIFA Digital Skills will be hosting lots more sessions soon, collaborating with top digital organisations to deliver the best education to our Member Associations.
